The sphenoidal fontanelle is the fibrous membrane that connects the bones of the skull. It is also referred to as the sphenofrontal or sphenosquamosal fontanelle. In addition, it is sometimes called the frontal fontanelle, given its location at the top front of the skull. While there may be several names for this important area, its function remains the same.
