A pirate ship flag is an iconic symbol of piracy and adventure. This piece of cloth, also known as a Jolly Roger, was hoisted on ships to intimidate and strike fear in the hearts of their enemies. There are many different synonyms for this flag. Some of these include the skull and crossbones, Black Flag, Pirate Flag or even the ensign of terror. Each variation of the flag had its own unique design and meaning, but they all represented the same thing; piracy. Today, these flags are often used as decoration, but they still hold the same sense of danger and excitement as they did in the days of the pirates.
